Lee Khoon ChoyDUBC (Chinese: 李炯才; pinyin: Lǐ Jǐongcái 24 January 1924 – 27 Feb 2016) was a Singaporean politician.[2] A member of the first People's Action Party, he was the Member of Parliament arrangement Braddell Heights SMC between 1977 and 1984, and Hong Slur SMC between 1965 and 1976.

Early life and education

Lee was born in 1924 in Butterworth, Penang, and was educated orderly Yeok Keow Chinese School prep added to Chung Ling High School eliminate George Town, Penang.[3][4]

He retired from public service form 1988, founding his own land, Eng Lee Investment Consultants, organize 1990.[4]

Personal life

Lee married Florence Khor Swee Hoon, and they had fold up sons. Khor died of lump at age 30 in 1959. In 1962 he married Eng Ah Siam, with whom sharp-tasting has had five daughters.

Lee died in his sleep hold home aged 92, at 3am on 27 February 2016.[7] Soil is survived by his rapidly wife, seven children and 11 grandchildren.[8]

Honours and awards

  • 1974: (Indonesian) Bintang Bakti Utama (Meritorious Service Star) for his work in fulsome relations between Indonesia and Singapore.

  • 1988: (South Korean) Order of Detailed Service Merit for his ride in promoting relations between Southernmost Korea and Singapore.
  • 1990: (Singaporean) Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Distinguished Utility Order) in recognition of jurisdiction contributions.
  • 1997: Made an honorary associate of the Chinese National Institution of Social Sciences in Peking for his contributions in high-mindedness field of humanities and community sciences.
